FAQ
Where do the coachings take place?
The coaching sessions typically take place at Mitch’s recording studio in 1090 Vienna. Alternatively, they can also be conducted worldwide via Zoom sessions online. In exceptional cases, it is possible, by arrangement, to conduct the sessions at the participants’ location, for example, to discuss studio setup or room acoustics directly
Can the coaching sessions also be held online?
Yes, we offer the option of conducting coaching sessions online at any time. Mitch’s studio is optimally equipped for online sessions. A video-switching system allows both screen content and live camera images to be transmitted, while the sound is transmitted in full stereo quality. This means you can take part in the training sessions from anywhere as long as you have a computer with an internet connection and headphones or good speakers.
When and how often do the coaching sessions take place?
One-to-one coaching sessions offer the flexibility to arrange individual appointments to suit your schedule. It has proven to be a good idea to schedule double lessons (120 minutes) as the ideal length for the training sessions. This allows sufficient time to go into depth, while at the same time leaving enough space to internalize and process the content covered.
How many training sessions will I need?
The number of training units required depends heavily on your current level of knowledge and your goals. As a rule, around 5 double lessons are sufficient to learn the basic functions of programs such as Ableton Live or another DAW. However, if you also want to learn production techniques, mixing, and other topics, you will need more sessions. Some of Mitch’s students have been coming to the individual sessions regularly for years to receive coaching and feedback for their own projects and to continuously deepen their knowledge of music production, sound engineering, and mixing. For this reason, Mitch does not offer courses with fixed curricula, as the content is customized for each participant.
What equipment do I need to take part in the lessons?
You don’t need your own equipment for the sessions in the studio, as everything you need to get started is available. However, it is important that you repeat what you have learnt at home and practice intensively. In most cases, it therefore makes sense to have a reasonably up-to-date version of a DAW installed on your computer and to have the option of monitoring via good headphones or speakers. After a short practice period, many participants often wish to integrate a small audio interface and a MIDI keyboard into their setup. However, the discussion of possible individual home studio setups, adapted to your plans, is always part of the coaching sessions.
If you take part in the training sessions online, you will also need stable internet access and the usual equipment for Zoom conferences (webcam & microphone).
I'm interested in game audio and other next-gen audio topics. Can I learn that here too?
Yes, Mitch has specialized strongly in these topics. Above all, game audio, interactive audio, and 3D audio are his specialties. In October 2023, he was even invited by Epic Games (Fortnite) to give a one-hour keynote on these topics at the developer conference in New Orleans.
Can I arrange a free information appointment?
Yes, this is possible at any time. Simply use the contact form below on the website or send an email to office@tripbox.com.
What are the rates for the training sessions?
